The bathroom light was on a little too bright

I made the mistake of leaning in a little nearer.

Looked myself in my own eye

Saw only blowing dust and drifting sand

Sticker peeling off the bumper of a broke-down Astrovan reads:

I swear the toothbrush frowned at me, the toilet seat just blushed and turned away The razor and the comb conspired, insinuate that I could use a shave

I suppose that when the sun comes up I’ll watch it rise from behind my scratched-up shades

Look myself in my own eye

Drag a blade and pack the car

Morning D.J. spouting platitudes on the am radio saying “Where ever you go, There You Are”

Things were getting kind of hairy so I stumbled out towards Potato Lake Bluff Beneath the waxing gibbous begged the breeze to steal the song from my mouth With my junk spread all around in the moonlight looking faded and wornout
Looked myself in my own eye
Saw only fading light and swirling mist
certain memories of a time gone by linger in my jealous mind Where ever she goes, there she is
